Samira Sabulis, an interdisciplinary artist, contacted me because she was having trouble with her website traffic and wanted to increase class bookings and brand loyalty. Through collecting data from multiple web and social analytic tools I found that most of the traffic came from social media channels. Nonetheless, users weren’t interacting with the website which was indicated by the high bounce rate. Additionally, social media engagement rates were well below the industry average.
This analysis pointed me to four courses of action to develop an effective strategy. I decided to grow her social media following to augment traffic, increase organic search traffic, optimize social links to generate more revenue, and build deeper relationships with followers. To achieve these goals, I researched and interacted with people that followed our competitors, I created a blog and implemented SEO practices, I guided the audience directly to masterclasses link, and I designed interactive content to foster dialog between the artist and her audience.
With this data-based strategy, I successfully grew the social following by 5%, reduced the bounce rate by 34.7%, boosted bookings by 233%, and increased Instagram’s and Facebook’s engagement rate by 72% and 300%, respectively. However, I was not successful in growing the organic search traffic with the blog, so I modified our strategy by enhancing URLs and improving the keywords used. Overall, my data-based strategy allowed me to significantly grow brand loyalty and web traffic by 61%. The artist was impressed with the results and I was pleased it positively impacted her business.
